Forgive me if I fall behind,
I’m rarely good with human kind
sitting here we all must bide,
until another rising tide
forgive me if I slip behind,
the rush of foamy liquid brine.
It’s about mortality, time, and also forgiveness.
It may not be very upbeat, but it’s relevant to humanity. Doug.

The future never comes along
The present only slips away
Moment by moment
Day by day
Before you know
You’re growing old
And wishing time
Would bend or fold
Wishing you could
Stay awake
Till every new
Tomorrow breaks
Taking in
And letting out
Until there’s not
A shred of doubt
You’ve seen all
There is to see
From coast to coast
From sea to sea
And now you find
The truth of it
The shoe that
Really seems to fit
You learned some
Things along the way
“Now” here you are
With this, today
